Champions Trophy 2025: Full Squads, Groups, Fixtures, and Key Matches Revealed

Champions Trophy Returns After Eight Years with High-Voltage Cricket Action

Cricket fans around the world are gearing up for the much-anticipated Champions Trophy 2025, which makes its grand return after an eight-year hiatus. The tournament, organized by the International Cricket Council (ICC), will feature the top eight One-Day International (ODI) teams battling for supremacy in a competition that has delivered some of the most thrilling moments in cricket history.

The last edition of the Champions Trophy was held in 2017, where Pakistan emerged victorious, defeating India in a historic final at The Oval in England. This time, the tournament will be played in Pakistan, making it the first ICC event hosted by the country since the 1996 World Cup. However, due to political tensions, all of India’s matches will be played in Dubai, ensuring a neutral venue for one of cricket’s biggest rivalries.

Tournament Format and Group Stage Breakdown

The Champions Trophy 2025 will feature eight teams, divided into two groups. Each team will play three group-stage matches, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the semi-finals. The tournament will officially kick off on February 19, 2025, in Karachi, with an exciting opening match between defending champions Pakistan and New Zealand.

Group A:

  • Pakistan (Hosts)
  • India
  • New Zealand
  • Bangladesh

Group B:

  • Australia
  • England
  • South Africa
  • Afghanistan

The final is scheduled for March 9, 2025, with the venue dependent on the finalists—either Lahore or Dubai.

India-Pakistan Clash Set for February 23 in Dubai

One of the biggest highlights of the tournament will be the highly anticipated clash between India and Pakistan on February 23 in Dubai. The fierce cricketing rivals last met in an ICC event during the 2023 ODI World Cup, where India emerged victorious. With both teams fielding star-studded squads, fans can expect another intense battle.
